History of PrintConcept - member of Hönle-Group




05.05.2008   Groundbreaking for the new building in Kohlberg. At the new office, there will be more than 2,000 m² of administrative and production area available.  


Development of  an Inline UV measurement.

Almost 4 million Euros of annual sales.

Merger with the Dr. Hönle AG  by 31. December 2007 in order to assure further expansion. The founder of the enterprise, Mr. Jürgen Welle, sells 70% of the company shares.


2006   Already more than 250 delivered systems to KBA-Metronic clients in the USA, Mexico, Russia, Malaysia, China, Australia, Europe, South Africa etc.

The 1000th UV lamp head is delivered.


With a total of 16 UV lamp heads, PrintConcept delivered the biggest inert facility in Europe so far. A production rate of 400m/min is possible with this facility with high speed inertization.

    Delivery of the biggest UV installation of PrintConcept (arc length of 2500mm working width) to the company Ritrama in Italy.  

2004   Presentation of the UV lamp head PC-3000 for sheet fed offset printing at the DRUPA in Düsseldorf. First installation in sheet fed offset on a Heidelberg CD 102.

Delivery contract with KBA-Metronic AG.

Cooperation agreement with IOM for the development and delivery of inerted UV-systems.

The company increases to 15 members of staff with a sales volume of more than 3 million Euros.


2000   Presentation at the DRUPA in Düsseldorf.  

1998   Development of a water-cooled UV-system and introduction on the market. Participation in the first international exhibition LabelExpo in Brussels.  

1997   Market launch and installation of the first systems in Germany.  

1996   Development of an air-cooled UV-system for label printing.  

1995   Foundation of the PrintConcept UV-Systeme GmbH by Mr. Jürgen Welle after almost 10 years of experience in the field of UV technology. Intention is the production of high-quality  UV-curing system for the graphic arts industry.
